Asin Will Shoot There For Her Next B-Town Flick Starring Salman Khan
Asin has packed her bags and is leaving for Sri Lanka next Sunday for the shoot of the Anees Bazmee-directed Ready, which has Slman Khan as the hero. The film is a remake of Telugu film by the same name, and is also being remade in Tamil as Uthama Puthiran with Dhanush and Genelia. Asin's Departure to Colombo is sure to stir a hornets' nest in Kollywood, as she is also doing Kavalkaran with Vijay.
The Tamil Film industry is still reeling under the impact of the raging controversy over the recent awards ceremony top Bollywood stars took part. The South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce (SIFCC) even passed a resolution banning the films of these stars.
Moreveover, in an interview to a television channel, Salman Khan said, "I don't really understand this. If there are some people here (in Sri Lanka) who are not doing well and are in trouble, then we have come to entertain them. We are here to give them something. This way we won't be able to visit Kasmir, Gujarat or Afghanistan. If our people are in difficulty we should not abandon them." Meanwhile, as per the original plan, Ready was to start its shoot in Mauritius, but the Rajapakse government in Sri Lanka had gone out of its way to woo and roll out the red carpet for Salman and other Bollywoid stars, who were also impressed with the locales in Sri Lanka.
